A short thank-you to the men & women of the US Armed Forces

Dear Veterans. My thanks for all that you have given us. My thanks to your families for their sacrifices.

[img_assist|nid=2015|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=100]Junkies: times are tough, but they are far tougher for our disabled vets. I don't shill for charities that often, but this is my biggie. In honor of our the veterans who served our nation, consider donating a few scheckles to the Disabled American Veterans. The economy sucks and people are losing jobs, but you can always get another job -- you can't get another limb. Our men and women are coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan with severe injuries, and every little bit helps.

A Tip of the Hat and a Great Thank You

to the veterans.  Even if you don't support a war, at least support the fighters.

Same here.

10 years active and damn proud of it.  There's a certain 'reality' of being in the service during war time, and even during times of peace.  Words escape me (which is rare if you know me well)...  From the revolutionary war, through the civil war, and all the wars since then.  Huddled around a fire.  Facing down your country's enemies.  Taking that hill.  Sacrifice.  Well, that's about all I can say.   I join you in saluting our veterans, with pride.

Wolf!

Thank You! Your service to this great Country is deeply appreciated. That goes for JP and all you other Junkies whom are serving or have served also! I used to call my Father every Veterans day to thank him for his service. Dad would chuckle and say "Thanks? for what?" I'd say "Your service to our Country as a member of the Armed Forces"  He'd laugh and say "Oh, Thanks" and make no big deal about it but you could tell he appreciated the call. Now that he has passed on I now have turned to calling my siblings who have served. Though they just think I'm a little nutty.
