LaunchPad

Sitting down for my first day of the week-long LaunchPad event in Laramie, Wyoming. This NASA-sponsored event teaches writers how to correctly communicate spacey things. I'm going to be using this for research on THE CRYPT, which is shaping up to be one high-toned bitch of a story. Attendees include a great list of authors and general coolness:

Pat Cadigan
Carolyn Clink
Andy Duncan
Tara Fredette
Owl Goingback
N.K. Jemisin

Julie V. Jones
Marc Laidlaw
Ed Lerner
Brian Malow
Robert J. Sawyer
Gord Sellar

I had an idea for a Crypt character

I have a small plot-line outlined in my head that I think would be suitable for the Crypt (or, at least, I did but I've forgotten most of it) ummm, is it possible to submit it to Scott? Is there somewhere on the site that addresses this question that I've missed? (It should be noted that I probably can't write very well, and the idea is probably derivative or something and a bit shit, but still.)

Awesome stuff...

I didn't know NASA offered stuff like this!  Very cool, indeed. Can't wait to see how it's applied to The Crypt.

Exactly!

And you will be watching a LOT of them die when I bust out THE CRYPT?

Been there! (well, not there actually)

Took Astronomy my freshman year of high school because I thought it would be an easy grade. Boy was I ever wrong! Needless to say, I didnt register for Astronomy II my junior year. I cant imagine the depth of material that you must be covering.

When you come on Books and Ideas

I look forward to learning all about Launch Pad when you come on Books and Ideas since I was hoping to focus on the topic of how hard you work on the scientific accuracy in your writing.
