Okay, the headline is a complete lie, but if you liked the scientific decription of telomeres in CONTAGIOUS, you're going to love this shiz. The peeps who discovered telomeres landed the Nobel Prize. Three Americans, thank you very much (so all you wags that bad-mouth American science and scientists can just go suck it). So here's a "Fuck Yeah!" for Elizabeth Blackburn (University of California, San Francisco), Carol Greider (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine) and Jack Szostak (Massachusetts General Hospital).

Go get your science on, bitches!

Nicely done!

Good to see them getting accolates for something that's quite important!

An American, a Briton, and a Canadian(Or three Americans, since they all have American Citizenships as well) recently got a Nobel prize for inventing CCD sensors, which converts light into electric data. They invented the Digital camera! The Hubble'd need a LOT of film to take all of those awesome photos, if it weren't for these guys.

Just askin'...

Not wanting to steal any glory from anyone...

But...

Does the fact that the lead Scientist, Elizabeth Blackburn, was born in Australia, give us Aussies some small amount of recognition too?
