Devlin coverCrites MarketingI'll be honest, when I grow up, I want to be Greg Crites.

Click here to go to Crites' site and get his stuff

I am wayyyy behind on blogging about what I'm reading and/or listening to, so I'll keep this short. Besides, if AlphaGirl (the Director of Døøm) finds out I'm listening to stuff instead of kicking out content for all y'all, there will be a conference room brew-hah-hah that could result in a trip to the emergency room.

I finished another Crites gem, DEVLIN: ABNORMAL INVESTIGATIONS, and as usual, fucking loved it. Crites has a unique horror/comedy niche and never fails to deliver. This is my third Crites novel. I started with CRUSADE, then did DUNKIN THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (which I would recommend reading/hearing before you do DEVLIN, but DEVLIN works fine as a stand-alone novel).

If you can find a better novel about an alcoholic, foul-mouthed, monster-slaying vampire, I would love to know.

Crites is also the author of a character in THE CRYPT: Bentwrench Crites, Engineer

I've been a big fan of his for a long time...

His gut-bust factor is pretty frickin' high.

Definitely highly recommended.  All his crap.

Craptacular DVD from the Hack

I recently purchased a DVD from The Hack that contains all of his books in either pdf or mp3 format. He signed it and included a copy of Global Swarming (his new zombie novel) and a download link for Zane Sickle Comic Adventurer. One of his best free offerings is Hard Boiled Headlines. This is a noir-journalism novel that does not contain Crites' characteristic humor.

female podcast novelists

I'm a big fan of Mur Lafferty and I think we need more female podcast novelists.

I LOVE Devlin!

He's such a great character. He really likes to think of himself as this really bad guy, when in fact he's a real sweetie underneath all the guff and tough talk. It's too bad about his drinking problem though... and by "drinking problem" I mean the fact that he has to drink so damn much just to get a short-lived buzz. Poor guy, it costs him like ten times more than everyone else just to get sloshed. :(

Dunkin 3 might disappear from Literary Lugwrench

The Hack (a.k.a. Greg Crites) recently made a statement about pulling Dunkin 3 from Literary Lugwrench. Bandwidth costs money that he needs to spend on booze.

If it goes away, send me an email and I'll send you a free copy. If he starts charging for it, you'll have to buy your own.

What are you kidding?!

It took you this long to getting around to reading Devlin A.I. ?

As selfish as it sounds, I gobble up both yours and Crites' stuff as soon as it's completed and I *still* have plenty of time to wait around, sitting on my hands, awaiting for whatever is next from you lethargic, over-paid, under-worked, penmen.  (yeah I know the stuff is free, but I'm certain people are shoveling cash at you from the 'Donation' link at Podiobooks!  ;-))

Anyway, I have to listen to Crites when I'm alone.  I tried it while I was working out once and burst out laughing several times, thus angering the herd of buffalo that were testing the tinsel strength of the tread mills at my gym, and down-rightedly infuriating some guy with a Napolean Complex of sorts in the locker room.

Crites can't be trusted.  He'll get your ass kicked if your not careful.

Keep it up fellas!

Get the Hardcover

Crites has a limited edition (100 copies) of the Dunkin Trilogy out.  I got my copy and for any other Dunkin/Devilin fans I recommend that you get yours asap.  Crites stuff is some of the best out there if you want good characters and a funny story you have to give it a shot.

Hey if you wanna by crap written by that Hack, that's your biz!

I know I did.  I've got my order in for the trilogy and personally, I can't wait.  If you wanna know what Crites is like, just look at Bent Wrench from the Crypt... that's him, through and through...

Rossi deserves his due

I mainly listen to The FDO and to Crites.  Both of them make my life enjoyable and therefore keeps everyone else around mine happier. However, Phil Rossi has some great stories and is pretty freaking creepy at times.

Sigler, let me be your body double to protect you when you take over the world.
