FDO™ and Sydney Opera House

Yes, a quick blog post on my time in Sydney, Australia. Wow, what a beautiful place. Great people, amazing Victorian architecture, an oh-so-clean downtown area and much more. I hit the Maritime Museum (and got one awesome idea for a whaling-era horror novel), then hit the Sydney Aquarium (and that whaling novel idea became even more solidified as I met the monster face-to-face).

I walked about the Sydney Opera House and checked out the Circular Quay area. The weather was perfect, just freakin' good times all around. After the touristy stuff, we got down to business with a reading at Infinitas Book Shop. Aussie Junkies came out in force, we had about 40+ at the store and I think at least 30 came out on a three-pub pub crawl. They kept shutting down the bars we were in -- could it have been the screaming and yelling, perhaps?

Special thanks to Tim at Infinitas for taking such amazing care of me, and to Junkie Ash for hauling my corpse-like carcass around Sydney for two days (and for helping set up the reading at Infinitas).

Wait! is that a Hutchinsss spy?

In the 7th Son t-shirt? I hope someone's got your back. Can't have the FDO under attack from the clones.

Why yes, apples. How did you know? [flickr-photo:id=4347154616] Pusher and member of the Gutter Sistren

Are there women in Australia?

It also looks like the FDO's right hand did not fully transport into the future.

Happy to hear they're taking good care of you.

The lengths to which you go in connecting with your audience is astounding. It's truly amazing.  Nuff said about that.  Past that, hope you're enjoying that aussie brew and come back safe....

Scott signing a Hutchinssss book with something like "Take this, you baby-faced bastard!"

Is the guy still doing breakdancing headspins

Down at circular quay... I left him there in 1997 so I would imagine he's a bit dizzy by now if he is.

I just *had* to get Scott to "sign" my Kilroy 2.0 shirts....

....the first time I met him. That's why they're always in my Sigler Horde pictures. Yes, he was creative.

Whaling novel!
